Butere Girls High School etched their name deeper into Kenya’s football legacy by clinching their third straight KSSSA national football title, narrowly defeating Madira Girls 1-0 in a gripping final at the Mumias Sports Complex on Saturday.
The Red Commandos took charge early in the 11th minute when Metrine Kitiavi headed in a brilliant cross from Lorna Faith, sending the Butere faithful into celebration. The goal proved decisive as both sides battled intensely for control.

Madira Fight Back, But Butere Hold Firm
Madira Girls rallied after the break, creating multiple chances and pressing hard for an equaliser. However, Butere’s well-organised defence stood tall, repelling every attack and preserving their narrow lead.
The final whistle sparked scenes of celebration, as the defending champions successfully completed a rare three-peat—having lifted the national trophy in 2023, 2024, and now 2025.
All Eyes on East Africa Stage
With this historic win, Butere Girls secured qualification for the East Africa Secondary School Games (FEASSA), where they will represent Kenya against top schools from across the region.
This continued success cements Butere’s status as a powerhouse in school football, and builds momentum as they now turn their focus to continental glory.
