The National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) officers arrested a woman who was trafficking drugs and they confiscated cannabis which had a value exceeding Sh4 million during their special operation in Kisumu County. The police operation at Ahero Market in Nyando Sub-County started after authorities received information about ongoing drug trafficking operations in the area.
Raid Conducted Following Tip-Off
The NACADA team launched their operation on Tuesday morning after receiving a reliable tip-off which they had been waiting for. The officers conducted their raids to various locations which they believed were part of a drug trafficking network operating within the area. Officers executed their operation to capture all network members and take back all stolen illegal substances.
Repeat Offender Nabbed
The officers arrested the repeat offender who had been under police observation at the homestead during their operation. Dr. Anthony Omerikwa NACADA Chief Executive Officer identified the suspect as the most dangerous drug dealer who had previously sold drugs in the region.

Large Haul of Cannabis Recovered
Dr. Omerikwa announced that the police discovered him with extensive cannabis stocks which they found stored in various types of containers that included twigs and small packets which local people call “tarrifs” and brooms. The seized drugs had a street value which exceeded Sh4 million according to the authorities.
Continued Fight Against Drug Abuse
The authority through NACADA announced their commitment to fight against drug trafficking operations which they established through their arrests and drug confiscation activities. The agency pledged to keep working together with law enforcement personnel and citizens to fight against illegal drug trafficking activities throughout the nation.
