A spirit of compassion and inclusion was evident at Eldoret Polytechnic as members of the Lions and Leos Club led a significant donation drive, handing over a specialized electric wheelchair to a student living with disability—marking a major win for the PWD community at TENP.

The wheelchair was presented to Purity Chibet, who in 2024 served as the representative of persons with disabilities at The Eldoret National Polytechnic in the student leadership, later she saved as the finance Cabinet Secretary in 2025. The assistive device is set to greatly enhance her mobility, independence, and overall learning experience.
The donation was made in memory of the late Harsha Kotecha from the United Kingdom, through his family, and facilitated by the charitable organization Kind heART (UK), in collaboration with the Lions and Leos Club.
Speaking during the event, Purity Chibet expressed deep gratitude for the support, terming the gesture as life-changing. She further urged the donors and partners to extend similar assistance to other students facing mobility challenges within the institution.
“I urge you to come back and support more students like me who are facing the same challenges,” she said.

The event not only highlighted the power of community support but also underscored the urgent need to invest more in assistive technologies for persons with disabilities, cementing the donation as a significant step forward for inclusivity at TENP.
