The Eldoret National Polytechnic has emerged as one of the standout performers at the KATTI 2026 National Drama and Film Festival, held at Nyeri National Polytechnic in Nyeri County, scooping multiple top awards and cementing its position as a creative powerhouse among technical institutions in Kenya.

The institution delivered an impressive performance across various categories, outshining competitors from across the country.

Top honours in major categories

The Eldoret Polytechnic secured first position in the Narratives category, demonstrating its strength in storytelling and performance.

The institution also clinched top position in the CCD category, alongside winning Best Costume, Best Choreography, and Most Creative awards — a clean sweep that highlighted its dominance in stage presentation and artistic execution.

In addition, Eldoret Polytechnic’s play earned the Adjudicators’ Award, further reinforcing its impact in theatrical performance.

Excellence in theatre and production

In the highly competitive Plays category, Eldoret Polytechnic emerged overall winner, outperforming institutions such as Nairobi Aviation and Rift Valley Technical Training Institute.

The institution also won Best Play in Kiswahili and Best Costume and Décor, showcasing its versatility in both language performance and stage design.

Consistency across performance disciplines

Beyond theatre, Eldoret Polytechnic maintained strong performances in other segments, including finishing second in Live Broadcast, underlining its all-round strength in creative arts.

Its consistent presence among top performers reflects a balanced investment in talent development, training, and production quality.

Rift Valley emerges top region

The strong showing by Eldoret Polytechnic contributed to Rift Valley Region Kenya emerging as the best-performing region, followed by Nairobi and Western.
