
Taita Taveta County hosted a top government delegation led by Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki on the second day of his economic empowerment tour of the Coast region. Cabinet Secretary for Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs, Hon. Ali Hassan Joho, was among the key leaders accompanying the DP, as they sought to engage and empower local communities.
Engaging Local Communities
The delegation made stops in Taveta, Mwatate, Wundanyi, and Voi constituencies, where they interacted with residents and leaders. The engagements focused on economic transformation, community empowerment, and advancing the government’s development agenda.
Call for Unity and Solidarity
In a statement shared after the tour, CS Joho highlighted the importance of peace, unity, and regional cooperation in achieving meaningful change.

“In unison with other leaders from the region and across the country, we seized the opportunity to champion the importance of solidarity, advocating for peace and unity as we align with the Government’s vision for economic transformation,” he said.

The tour comes as the government intensifies initiatives to tackle unemployment, expand infrastructure, support agriculture, and harness the blue economy for sustainable development.
