The Eldoret National Polytechnic (TENP) music club is ready to battle it out at the National Kenya Music Festival, set for August 4–16 in Meru.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Kenya Coastal News, the music club patron confirmed their readiness towards the eagerly awaited competition.
"God has being with us, we have practiced for the last two months to ensure that we are at the top of the notch, " Kennedy Mutahi assured.
Late-Night Rehearsals and Resilience
Similar sentiments were echoed by the club chair Elvis Kisiagani popularly known as Bisaka who expressed confidence in their performance.

"We are extremely well prepared. Sometimes extending till late in the night, we are very confident that we will win" Said Elvis.
The club has registered 47 items out of the 55 they are going to perform at the festival.
Cold Weather and Exam Pressure
However, despite the team's dedication they have encountered a number of challenges. One of the major issues has been the recent cold weather across the country which has affected the health of some of the members.

"It has being cold of late and some students have fallen sick due to flu," noted Mutahi
Kisiagani also mentioned time contrast as another challenge moreso for members currently undertaking their exams under the new model(CDACC) thus limiting their rehearsals on weekends.
"There are those students doing their exams under the new model which runs till late in the evening which makes it difficult for us to do our practice thus forcing us to conduct productive rehearsals during the weekends," stated Kisiagani.
Support from the Administration
Both the patron and chairperson expressed their gratitude to the school administration for the unwaving support led by the school chief principal Dr. Charles Koech.
"We sincerely like to appreciate the school administration led by the chief principal Dr Charles Koech, for the support they have given us, from costumes, food, transportation to accomodations. We are much grateful ,"added Kisiagani.
A Historic Moment for TENP
The event will officially commence on 4th and conclude on 16th of August this year. With solid preparation and team spirit the TENP music club is hopeful and determined to bring the trophy home.

Victory at the national festival would mark a major milestone for TENP. It would showcase the institution’s cultural strength and uplift its name across the country. For the North Rift–based polytechnic, currently under the leadership of Chief Principal Dr. Charles Koech, a win would reflect academic and artistic excellence—and inspire more investment in the arts.
