The regional volleyball finals held in Trans Nzoia County brought together top primary school teams vying for a spot at the National Championships in Kakamega County. In the showpiece match, Nandi County’s team delivered a commanding straight-set win over hosts Trans Nzoia.
Star Players Shine
Standout performer Isaacs Kemutai, wearing jersey number 5 for Bishop Muge School, impressed with sharp defense and precise attacks. Kosmas Kirua applied constant pressure with powerful spikes, while number 6, Eugene Kipkoech, excelled in coordination and ball control, helping anchor Nandi’s dominance throughout the match.
Tactical Edge Under Coach Matias
Guided by their coach, Matias, Nandi exhibited strategic precision, cohesive teamwork, and disciplined play. Their structured rotations and smart positioning repeatedly disrupted Trans Nzoia’s . The triumph brought jubilation among students and teachers who cheered enthusiastically from the sidelines, highlighting the team’s unity and resilience.

“I’m really happy with the competition. We’ve played and won against tough teams from Narok, Kajiado, and West Pokot in the semi-finals, and now winning the regional finals is a big step. I believe we’ll do even better in Kakamega at the Nationals.” Said Matias.
Respectful Rivalry
Trans Nzoia coaches accepted the loss gracefully, admiring Nandi’s level of preparation. “We accept the results with humility and will go back to train harder,” said one coach.
