Over 600 patients received specialized medical care during a one-day medical camp organized by the Kilifi County Department of Health and Sanitation Services in collaboration with the German Doctors Group. The outreach was conducted at Marekebuni Dispensary in Magarini Sub-county.
The multidisciplinary team provided services across key specialties including obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, pediatrics, nutrition, mental health, radiology, laboratory, and pharmacy. The camp was part of the County’s ongoing efforts to strengthen Universal Health Coverage (UHC) at the primary care level.

A significant number of the cases handled during the camp were non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Patients requiring advanced treatment were referred to Marafa Sub-county Hospital for further management.
In a statement shared online, the Department acknowledged the vital role of Community Health Promoters (CHPs) in mobilizing residents, stating:
“Community Health Promoters were instrumental in mobilizing the community, which led to a high turnout.” The outreach forms part of Kilifi County’s broader strategy to improve access to specialized care in rural areas, in partnership with international and local health actors.
