Kampala, Uganda — The gospel music community in East Africa is mourning the death of Rwandan gospel artist Gloriose Musabyimana, popularly known as Gogo, who passed away in Kampala, Uganda, at the age of 36 after a short illness.
A medical report from Kyegera Doctors Center in Kampala confirmed that she died on the night of September 3, 2025. Her passing occurred during a trip to Uganda where she had attended a gospel conference in Mbarara from August 29 to 31 before traveling to Kampala for promotional activities of her music.

Illness and Sudden Passing
Shortly after her arrival in Kampala, Gogo’s health deteriorated rapidly. She was rushed to hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Musical Journey and Breakthrough
Gogo rose to fame through her uplifting gospel songs, which attracted a wide following across Rwanda and the region. Her track “Blood of Jesus” became an international sensation after South African musician David Scott (The Kiffness) produced a remix in January 2025, incorporating trumpet and piano. The remix went viral on TikTok and YouTube, amassing more than 780,000 views on YouTube.
