Butere Girls reaffirmed their dominance in schoolgirls’ football with a narrow 1-0 win over Madira Girls in the final of the 2025 KSSSA National Championships held today at the Mumias Sports Complex.
The Red Commandos needed just one goal to clinch their third consecutive national title, completing a historic treble. The decisive moment came in the 11th minute when Butere’s forward rose highest to head home the winner, setting off wild celebrations from the fans and technical bench.

Madira’s Resistance Falls Short
Despite a spirited fightback from Madira, Butere’s solid backline held firm, expertly managing the game to maintain the slender lead. The final whistle marked not just a victory, but yet another golden chapter in the school’s decorated football history.
Nasokol Win Bronze in Nail-Biting Shootout
In the third-place playoff—played earlier in the day—Nasokol Girls edged out Kobala Girls 4-3 on post-match penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time. The shootout was tense, with Nasokol showing composure to secure the bronze medal.
All three teams—Butere Girls, Madira Girls, and Nasokol Girls—will now shift focus to the East Africa Secondary School Games, where they’ll represent Kenya on the regional stage.
The Mumias Sports Complex provided a fitting backdrop to a thrilling conclusion of this year’s girls’ football action, celebrating talent, resilience, and the spirit of competition.
