MCK Opens Industrial Attachment Slots for Final-Year Journalism Students

The Media Council of Kenya (MCK) has announced the opening of applications for its September to November 2025 Industrial Attachment Programme, aimed at equipping final-year students of journalism, media, and communication with hands-on experience in real newsroom settings.

The programme, now a signature initiative of MCK’s professional development agenda, will run for three months and place successful applicants in accredited media houses across the country, where they will work in print, broadcast, digital, and production departments under professional supervision.

Fostering Ethical and Professional Journalism

Over the years, hundreds of students have benefitted from the programme, many of whom now work in leading media outlets.

As Kenya’s media landscape continues to evolve amid digital disruption, misinformation, and press freedom challenges, MCK’s initiative offers students a rare chance to gain practical knowledge while also learning to navigate the complexities of modern journalism.
