Students Champion Green Action in Matuga
Kenya Coast National Polytechnic (KCNP) student leaders under the Kenya Coast Polytechnic Students Association (KECOPSA), in partnership with the institution’s Greening Champion, led a major tree planting exercise in Matuga Sub-County, Kwale.
At Yeje and Mbweka primary schools, the student leaders joined pupils and staff in planting trees while sensitizing them on environmental conservation.

“We joined hands to conserve our environment through planting trees and educating young learners on the importance and benefits of trees in our ecosystem,” the institution shared in a statement through their official social media handles.
Collaboration with PS for Transport in Tononoka
In Tononoka, another KCNP team comprising trainers and student leaders joined the Principal Secretary for Transport, Hon. Mohamed Daghar, in a tree planting exercise at Mbhenni Girls Primary School. The event highlighted the institution’s partnership with government efforts to promote a sustainable and eco-conscious generation.
Environmental Drive Spreads to Nyali
A third KCNP team conducted a similar exercise at Nyali Primary School, planting trees and engaging learners on the importance of green spaces in urban settings.
