KCAA confirms Aircraft Crash in Kwale–with 12 on board
In a press statement signed by KCAA Director General Emile N. Arao, the authority assured the public that investigations are underway to establish the cause of the crash.

The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has confirmed that an aircraft with registration number 5Y-CCA crashed early Tuesday morning in Kwale County while flying from Diani to Kichwa Tembo.According to the statement, the aircraft went down at around 0530 hours, with 12 people on board.

In a press statement signed by KCAA Director General Emile N. Arao, the authority assured the public that investigations are underway to establish the cause of the crash.

“Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) wishes to confirm that an aircraft registration number 5Y-CCA, on its way from Diani to Kichwa Tembo, crashed at 0530Z,” the statement read.

“The aircraft had 12 persons on board. Government agencies are already on site to establish the cause of the accident and its impact,” added Mr. Arao.

Rescue and Investigations Underway

Emergency and rescue teams were immediately deployed to the crash site to coordinate the response efforts. KCAA said it is working closely with other government agencies and aviation experts to determine what led to the tragedy.

Public Urged to Await Official Updates

The authority has called on the public and media houses to rely only on verified information from official sources as investigations continue.

The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) is the national regulatory body established under the Civil Aviation Act, CAP 394. It oversees aviation safety, security, and air navigation services across the country, ensuring compliance with both national and international aviation standards.
