Firearm Recovered as Part of Firm Operations
Uasin Gishu County security officials led by County Commissioner Dr. Eddyson Nyale inspected an AK-47 rifle that was recovered from suspects during the heightening of security operations across the county. The combined operation was launched as a response to the increase in armed and violent robberies, which have unsettled many residents.

Suspects Are Said to be Associated with a Gang of Organized Criminals
Authorities said three suspects were nabbed, believed to be among an organized gang that committed robberies in various parts with the use of motorbikes. The operation was carried out after a spree of violent attacks, to mention a few included killing a health worker attached to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH). Police also recovered ten rounds of ammunition, with investigators suspecting the weapon had been used in different crimes.
Community Involvement to Improve Security Initiatives
Dr. Nyale attributed the successful operation to fast mobilization by the security agencies and effective intelligence sharing, complemented by very efficient co-operation with the boda boda fraternity. He stated that all these enabled officers to track down the suspects more aggressively as well as recover the weapon. Authorities have also assured the residents of improved security while encouraging members of the public to continue sharing information that will help dismantle the wider criminal network and curb crime in the county.
