In a statement released on Monday, the family confirmed that Joyce passed away on January 26, 2026, at approximately 4.00 p.m.

Joyce, affectionately known as Joy by family and friends, had been undergoing treatment for serious health complications over the past year.
According to the family, she underwent a kidney transplant in mid-2025, after which she experienced a series of medical challenges. Although an infection toward the end of the year was successfully managed, her condition later deteriorated, necessitating further hospital care. She was briefly discharged and spent time at home two weeks prior to her passing.

She is survived by her husband, DJ Karumba, and their three children — Toria, Riri, and Imani.
In their message, the family said they are united in grief but comforted by their Christian faith, expressing hope in the promise of eternal peace. They appealed for prayers, love, and understanding as they make arrangements for her burial.
The family has also requested the public and the media to respect their privacy during this period of mourning, adding that details regarding funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course.
They expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support received from the public and the gospel community and encouraged well-wishers to continue holding the family in prayer.
